The Legacy XL Stationary Panel Kit is the first and only STC’d replacement instrument panel built with future upgradability in mind.
The heart of this system is the new stationary panel, which replaces the OEM structural stationary panel. With a slight redesign over the original Cessna stationary panels, enough volume is added to allow for the installation of a standard “six pack” instrument configuration or a 10” PFD display above the control yoke, along with a larger than standard center radio stack, and enough room for a MFD or panel mounted iPad on the right side.
Owner Configured Cover Panels Included
Included in the Legacy XL Stationary Panel Kit are five separate modular cover panels. The modular design of our cover panels allows for easy upgrades in the future, no need to redesign your entire layout, simply swap out one section.
The five modular cover panels include:
- Pilot side panel configured for standard instruments or the PFD of your choice
- Center radio stack panel configured with a customizable opening for the radio stack of your choice
- Co-Pilot side panel configured for an MFD
- Lower Control Panel features your circuit breakers, switches, and familiar locations for all your stand controls such as throttle, mixture, carb heat, cabin controls, etc
- Lower right side Map Box panel can be configured as a blank aux panel or can be outfitted with a door for our optional Map Box

This complete instrument panel kit is FAA STC/PMA approved for Cessna 172 models E through M. These models of Cessna 172 have their instrument layout offset from the center of the control yoke, due to the control yoke being higher than in later “six pack” models. We have solved this problem by slightly raising the height of the instrument panel, and opening up the area available to install instruments and avionics. A standard centered T configuration, or “six pack”, can now be easily installed, as well as a 10″ primary flight display.
Our STC approved design keeps your engine controls, circuit breakers, and switches in a familiar location, so you still have the look and feel of your Cessna 172 with a completely modern and upgradable layout.

Never worry about cutting holes in your avionics stack supports again. The Radiorax include preinstalled fasteners that are adjustable for your avionics installation, and will secure your avionics better than factory original methods. The Radiorax are installed in the stationary panel as an important part of the structure with added functionality.
